Justin Alves is a 2007 graduate from the Maine College of Art, with a BFA in Illustration and a minor in drawing.

He has interned with ONE magazine, local Portland Maine artists, and the Children's Museum of Maine. He also worked with some fellow illustrators Anna Boll and Leticia Plate to begin the Maine Illustrators Collective (MEIC), a non-profit organization to brain storm, critique new work, give support, share ideas, and offer advice on promoting each other's work. He currently is residing in Portland, ME and finished working on a children's book, in collaboration with the Victorian Mansion in Portland. His own personal children's book is in the works.

Justin loves character development, narratives, and puzzles. He spends his extra time laughing, enjoying good music, reading and constantly drawing toast.
